I like to write my own proposals. I have a few favorite tricks, and I thought I would share them with you. First, I like to write a brief proposal with the most important points first. Once I have that, I look at my other options and start working on their proposals as well.
One of the things I’ve seen time and time again is that when you write your proposal, the first few sentences are likely what you’ll want to use. After that they’re just suggestions to you, so if you’re reading this, it is likely you haven’t really thought about them in the first place. The key is to start by making sure that you have a good idea of what you want, what your idea is, and what you have to offer.
After that, it is easy to look at all the other proposals and compare them. You can then go back and compare your ideas to the other proposals, and see if you can find a better way to say what you want. By comparison, the unsolicited proposal is like sending a cold email. You dont actually know what you are talking about, and youre not guaranteed a response. Thats why I always like to work with a partner.
This is why I like to get to know my clients. I want to see their point of view and have them tell me what they want. This way I can then make my proposal more of what they want and less of what I dont want.
You don’t want to spend your time and energy working with someone who tells you what you want to hear. Its kind of like putting two coins in an empty cup and hoping for the best, right? To be totally honest, you can’t just tell me what I think you want. I don’t want to hear you say that’s what I want, or if it’s what you want I want to hear something else.
Its not that simple. When you put something out there you want to hear back from the other side, but you dont want to hear what they say because you dont know what they want. If you put something out there for the wrong reason I am sure youll get a response and if you put something out there for the right reason youll get nothing but silence. Its a bad strategy, I know. I know I tend to over-think unsolicited proposals.
Sure. My approach is to think about what I want, and then I think very carefully about how to get it. I then write the proposal to make sure I get the thing I want but also to make sure I don’t get something I don’t want. I don’t want to sound like some sort of a hippie, but I know that you do too. If you don’t want something, you dont want it.
If you do want something, then you will want it. If you dont want something, you dont want it. How you answer this question will depend upon the type of proposal you are writing.
A great way to think about this is to think about the words you use. The first thing you want to think about when writing up a proposal is to make sure that it really does what you think it will. The second thing you want to think about is whether or not the thing you are aiming for is something you want. If you feel that something is not you, then you should probably not write it.
I’m going to give you an example of how this question can be answered. The first thing you want to think about when writing up a paper is whether or not the paper you are writing will be what you need it to be. If you need something to be a certain way, then you should probably not write it. If you need something to be a certain way, then you are going to want to write it.
