A great question to get your mind thinking. How many times have you noticed how you feel and/or act differently when you try to do something that you’ve always done? If you’re like most people, you probably know what I’m talking about. This is called being self-aware.
Self-awareness is the ability to use our own knowledge to control our own behavior. In other words, if you know that your habits are causing you to be more or less prone to acting the way you do, you can consciously control your behavior.
In order to achieve self-awareness you need to learn to label your behaviors. If you try to be different from what you think you are, you will be less likely to change. This is why it is always best to go “against the grain” rather than “follow the herd.” Most people would rather be the one to change and be the new norm.
You can’t control how people will react to you. You can only decide to change, and that’s what we’re going for in Deathloop. After you’ve controlled your own response to a situation and labeled it as an example of your bad behavior, you can start to choose how you act from now on. If you’re a violent person, you should be more violent. If you’re in denial, you should stop being in denial.
I think we can all agree that the people of Deathloop are the new norm. It’s also cool that the game will be the first in a new genre of games that’s all about changing your own behavior, because a lot of games are set up that way.
One of my favorite ways to challenge others is to make fun of their behaviour. That is what tony hulman did in this latest trailer about how he acts in a situation. He’s just one of the people you can “play as” (like in a movie) and do whatever you want with. The idea is that you can create an environment where you are controlled more by your own choice than by the decisions of others.
That’s exactly what makes this trailer so cool because it forces you to decide what you want to do. While he’s not an actual person, you can make his actions seem real because the camera keeps switching between him and the game. This trailer is a little creepy because its not just about making fun of someone’s behaviour. It’s about putting people in situations where they can’t really change their behaviour, but still act the way that they want in the game.
I like that the gameplay is so much more about the choices you make rather than what you think others want. Its a little difficult to make a video with that much story, but it works well for the trailer. Its not the first trailer to try to make people feel like they have to make decisions about what they want. Hell, the first Deathloop trailer was basically just about saying that you can’t be sad because you can still walk around with guns.
In many ways Deathloop seems a lot like the trailer for the upcoming game of the same name.
The problem with Deathloop is that it’s meant to be hard to play, especially at the beginning of the game, which is why it makes the trailer work so well. It’s meant to be an “easy” experience (which is, admittedly, a somewhat lazy term for describing something that’s difficult) that makes you question what you think you’re doing. The first few minutes or so are very easy, but by the end you’ll be wondering if your decision was a mistake.
