A few weeks ago, I was sitting in my office at work when I saw the following line on my phone. It was from a Tom Waits song.
Tom Waits is a musician and guitarist who’s best known for his work with the Jimi Hendrix Experience (along with a bunch of other bands), but also for his work with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and the song “Tom Waits”, which is the title of his new album. It’s a great, fast-paced song that I love, but it got me thinking about something more general.
It’s a well-known fact, but I’ve always believed that all human beings are basically waiting to die. It’s the part of our life cycle where we go from being babies to little kids to teenagers to adults, and then finally die. Because of that, I think the majority of us are still waiting to die right around the time that every person leaves this planet to go back to the place that they came from.
This is a topic that I’ve been researching a lot recently. I’m thinking about how people actually die. I came across a study that said, “the average person will die between the ages of 25 and 29. They’re also about 10 years older than their parents, and that’s just the average. About 14% of people are between the ages of 60 and 69. That means that about 60 people will die between the ages of 60 and 69.
That means that there are about 56 people who will die between the ages of 60 and 69. That means that there are about 56 people who will die between the ages of 60 and 69. That means that there are about 56 people who will die between the ages of 60 and 69. That means that there are about 56 people who will die between the ages of 60 and 69. Sounds like a great way to meet some people who don’t see the world the way you do. Or who don’t care about people the way you do.
Maybe to some, but to me, I’d rather meet some dead people and get to know them a little better. As a business person myself, you can imagine the amount of times I’ve used my business skills to meet people in the past few years. Not that I’d ever say to anyone that they aren’t important to my business. That would be a lie. I’m a man who has never been afraid to take risks for the sake of growing and changing.
I think it is more than a little bit hypocritical of me to be so protective of my job when I don’t even believe in god, but I also think it is a very healthy response and a very necessary one. It doesn’t take a great deal of faith in god to say that you are willing to trust his guidance – and that you are willing to work for it.
I am a firm believer that our work is ultimately our own, and that we should be the most productive and motivated when we work for someone else. So I am very skeptical of anyone who feels the need to tell me that I dont count because I amnt important. If someone feels sorry for you, or tells you that you arent important for some reason, then that is one thing.
I understand the need to be polite and friendly when we can help each other, but I’m also not going to let a lot of people down for no reason. I’m going to work hard and trust in god’s guidance. That’s the kind of person I want to be.
