Jack Weissel is a highly sought after author and artist. His books include The Three Levels of Self-Awareness, The 3D-Awareness Matrix, and The Art of Self-Awareness. He is also an author for the popular website Art of the Brain.
In his book The Art of Self-Awareness, Weissel explains that there are three levels of self-awareness. The first level of awareness is a purely intellectual one. This involves thinking about, describing, or writing about things in a non-emotional way, or at least, not being completely self-absorbed. The second level of self-awareness is a more concrete one. This involves thinking about things in a more emotional way and understanding yourself as a person.
Weissel gives the example of a person who is completely self-absorbed and doesn’t even care about himself but has an excellent artistic eye. This person doesn’t have any trouble describing or writing about any subject, and because of this he doesn’t actually feel an emotional connection with any of those subjects. The third level of self-awareness is one in which the individual is in touch emotionally with his emotions and feelings.
Weissel isnt talking about the general level of awareness we call “self-awareness.” He is talking about the “specific” level of awareness we call “self-awareness”. The next level is one in which you are in touch emotionally with your emotions and feelings. The third level is one in which you have a direct emotional connection with your emotions and feelings.
The self-awareness that we call self-awareness is the level in which you have a direct emotional connection with your emotions and feelings. The levels of self-awareness that we call self-awareness are the third, fourth, and fifth levels of self-awareness.

At a certain point, even the most self-aware of people start to get a little too self-aware. Once they have an opinion, which, in the end, is their opinion and therefore just a little too self-aware, they start to believe it. That’s when our third level of self-awareness kicks in, the level in which you have a direct emotional connection with your emotions and feelings.
